Invitation to SELL Games 2025
We are pleased to announce that the 2025 SELL Student Games will take place from May 16 - 18, 2025 in Vierumäki (Heinola), Finland.
The SELL Student Games, or Student Sports competitions, were launched in 1923 in Tartu, Estonia. Two years ago, the competition celebrated its 100th anniversary and this year the event marks its 40th edition.
The SELL Games attract participants from around ten countries, but the responsibility for organizing the games lies alternately with the SELL countries - Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
Vierumäki Sports, Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, and the Finnish Student Sports Federation are responsible for the organization of the event in cooperation with the Finnish Sport Institute Vierumäki.
The organisers involved are mainly university students of Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, so every position from the Secretary-General to volunteers are university students. It represents a great opportunity for them to get some experience of organising big sports events.
The principles of the games are that everyone can participate and therefore the event combines top sports and joyful student events. Nowadays the games bring together around 2000+ students.
SELL Student Games in Vierumäki will include 15 sports: 3x3 basketball, Athletics (running), Badminton, Beach Volleyball, Chess, Floorball, Football (women 7 vs. 7, men 11 vs. 11), Judo, Orienteering, Padel, Powerlifting, Table Tennis and Volleyball.
SELL Student Games 2025 will take place on the 16th-18th of May and the first step of REGISTRATION is open, with the deadline to register being 31st of March 2025.
Most of the disciplines are also qualification events for the Finnish university student- athletes to the European Universities Games 2026 taking place in Salerno, Italy.
The SELL Games are held under the patronage of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) and the European University Sports Association (EUSA).
