Invitation to Batavierenrace race

At midnight on the 27th of April 2013, the starting shot of the 41th edition of the Batavierenrace will sound. The Batavierenrace is the largest relay race in the world and also the largest student event of the Netherlands. The route covers 175 km, going from Nijmegen to Enschede, and is divided into 25 stages (17 men's stages and 8 women's stages). The stages vary from 2.9 km to 11.2 km. The race starts on the 27th of April at midnight in Nijmegen. During the race, there will be three restarts for the morning, afternoon and final lap shifts. Almost 18 hours later, the finish will be in Enschede at the campus of the University of Twente.

 

To conclude this enormous event, the biggest student party of the Benelux takes place on the campus of the University of Twente, with over 12,000 visitors. Around 8,500 students in 350 teams participate in the Batavierenrace. Furthermore, several hundred international students from e.g. Germany, Slovenia, Great Britain, and Belgium take part.

The registration period for the 41st Batavierenrace is until November 30, 2012. If there are international places left after the official registration period closes, international teams have the possibility to register until February 8, 2013 - or until all places are filled. Note that it is not necessary to have a full team when registering, only the team captain has to be known.
