On behalf of the European University Sports Association (EUSA), the Sports Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (SportsBH) and the Organising Committee, we have the pleasure of inviting university teams of your country to participate in the 1st European Universities Judo Championship, which will be organised in Sarajevo, BiH between June 23 and 26, 2011.

The deadline for registration has been determined as March 23, 2011.

Sarajevo is the capital and largest city of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with some 300,000 inhabitants. Located in the Sarajevo valley, it is surrounded by the Dinaric Alps and situated around the Miljacka River. Although settlement in the area stretches back to prehistoric times, the modern city arose in the 15th century. Sarajevo has attracted international attention several times throughout its history: In 1914 as the spark of World War I, in 1984 as the host city of the Winter Olympics and more recently, for the Bosnian War which ended in 1995. The city is famous for its traditional religious diversity, with adherents of Islam, Orthodoxy, Catholicism and Judaism coexisting there for centuries. Higher education has a long tradition in Sarajevo, with roots reaching back to 1531. Apart from the University of Sarajevo, a few international universities are also located here.
