Invitation EUC Handball 2011
On behalf of the European University Sports Association (EUSA), the Croatian University Sport Federation (HSSS) and the Organising Committee, we have the pleasure of inviting university teams of your country to participate in the 6th European Universities Handball Championship, which will be organised in Rijeka, Croatia between July 17 and 24, 2011.
The deadline for registration has been determined as April 17, 2011.

City info
Rijeka is located in the northeast of Croatia on the Adriatic sea. It has a Mediterranean climate with temperatures from 25 C to 37 C in the summer. Rijeka nowadays has over 144.000 inhabitants which makes it the 3rd largest city in Croatia. The first modern settlers in the area were the Celtic Tarsatica on the hill, and the tribe of mariners, the Liburni, in the harbour below. During the colorful history of the city, it was under many different rulers, such as Habsburg, Venetians and Hungarians. The result of it is a multiethnic city whose people greet their guests with a special kind of hospitality. The University of Rijeka was founded in 1973 but its roots date back to the 17th century when the Rijeka Jesuit gymnasium was established. Today it is a modern university with over a 20.000 students and with a straight vision of combining academic achievements alongside with those on sport fields.
