International Volunteer Day 2016

International Volunteer Day 2016

December 5 marks the International Volunteer Day (IVD), recognised also by the United Nations (UN). This year's global theme is #GlobalApplause – giving volunteers a hand, recognizing volunteers worldwide and all they do in making peace and sustainable development a reality.

Volunteers are committed advocates of making the world a better place. From local community volunteers to those on the frontline of natural disasters, volunteers are quintessential to humanity – the billion volunteers globally bring communities together.

Volunteering at the European Universities Games 2016

Sport is strongly linked with volunteering, and European University Sports Association (EUSA) is proud to offer several opportunities to volunteers, and thanks them on this special day!

EUG2016 volunteers

Almost 1500 volunteers took part in the European Universities Games (EUG2016) this summer, out of which 10% were international volunteers. Let us also recognise the work of our commission members, who contribute to the work and development of our organisation on volunteer basis.

Last, but not least, EUSA is a proud partner in the European Voluntary Service (EVS), which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year!

New opportunities for volunteering in EUSA will be announced in January 2017, so stay tuned!
