International Students' Day 2024

International Students' Day 2024

November 17 marks the International Students’ Day, which celebrates the multiculturalism of students and encourages quality education to be accessible and available to all.

International Students’ Day started as a commemoration of the Czech universities stormed by Nazis in 1939 and the students who were subsequently killed and sent to concentration camps. Nowadays it is a celebration of the students' rights and multiculturalism.

students work hard to achieve their career goals and make a difference in the world. Those who actively pursue their sports career, need to be additionally recognised and their dual career supported. For the year 2024, the theme focuses on the power of students as change-makers in creating a more inclusive and just society.

EUSA has been an active supporter of this campaign over the years, and we are especially happy that this year we are celebrating our 25th anniversary, recalling on the great edition of the European Universities Games in Debrecen-Miskolc, the European Universities Rowing Championship in Zagreb, as well as being engaged in several projects and initiatives enabling safer and enjoyable experiences in sports to all. The International Students' Day this year also coincides with our anniversary Conference and Gala.
