International Students' Day
The International Students' Day is a celebration of multiculturalism, diversity and cooperation among students across the globe. It originates as a day of commemoration of the students from the University of Prague whose lives were taken in WWII and violent stop of student protesters in 1973 at the Athens Polytechnic. Now, the World Student Day has become an occasion for universities and organisations focusing on students around the world to promote their activity and highlight the importance of international students, and the good they do for the local community.
In many countries, students display and celebrate their acts of social responsibility and have gatherings on and off campus to showcase the causes they volunteer for, take part in sporting competitions and carry out various activities.
Happy International Student Day also from the European University Sports Association (EUSA)!
We are happy to announce that the EUSA Exhibition is now available for viewing at the Faculty of Sport at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia until end of November 2014.
