Important recognitions for EUSA Technical Delegates

Several commissions are active within the European University Sports Association (EUSA), among which the Technical Commission has the longest tradition. Two of the EUSA Technical Delegates, sport experts in their field, recently received an important recognition on national level.

In mid February, EUSA Technical Delegate for Table Tennis Mr Matija Krnc from Slovenia received the prestigious Bloudek Plaque award, the highest national recognition in the field of sport. Mr Krnc received the award for his long-term commitment and activities in Table Tennis, especially in the technical and judicial fields. His contribution was also recognised by the European Table Tennis Union (ETTU) which awarded him their highest award, the Badge of Honour last September.

Earlier in the year, EUSA Technical Delegate for 3x3 Basketball, Mr Ilan Kowalsky from Israel has been elected as a member of the Gender Equality Commission of the Olympic Committee of Israel. This is the first time that the Israeli Olympic Committee established this committee. Also, it is the first time that the NOC appointed someone from the Israeli Student Union ASA to be EC member in a Committee.

In February 2018, Mr Davor Cipek, EUSA Technical Delegate for Karate, also was elected as European Karate Federation (EKF) Coordinator of the European Games 2019 in Minsk, Belarus. This is another great recognition for Mr Cipek, who will be now coordinating the stage karate tournament for the European athletes in 2019, which will also serve as one of the key qualifying tournaments for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.

EUSA congratulates Mr Krnc, Mr Kowalski and Mr Cipek or these recognitions and as well as these, we are also proud of other technical delegates who have received multiple national and international recognitions for their work in sport.
