Important meetings in Portugal before the EUSA Conference
On Wednesday, April 5, 2017, several meetings and reception were held in Portugal, before the start of the EUSA Conference and Gala, which will be preceded by an Executive Committee meeting, all to be held in Coimbra, host city of the European Universities Games 2018.
The President of the European University Sports Association Mr Adam Roczek and Secretary General Mr Matjaz Pecovnik were first met by the President of the Portuguese University Sport Federation (FADU) Mr Daniel Monteiro and Secretary General Mr Manuel Veloso.
Together with the hosts they visited several authorities in Lisbon; starting with a meeting in the Parliament with the Commission of Communication, Culture, Youth and Sports President Mrs Edite Estrela.
The delegation was also received by the Minister of Education Mr Tiago Brandão Rodrigues and Secretary of State for Youth and Sports Mr Joao Paulo Rebelo.
The meetings in Lisbon concluded with a reception at the Portuguese Olympic Committee, where they were met by the President Mr Jose Manuel Constantino.
EUSA and FADU representatives then went to Coimbra, where the two organisations are hosting the bi-annual EUSA Conference on April 7 and 8, entitled Fostering inclusion and well-being through sport.
