Following the invitation of Mr Rafael Salinas, EUSA EC member responsible for STC, EUSA President Alberto Gualtieri and Vice President Sinisa Jasnic visited the Secretary of State and President f the Superior Sport Council, Education and Science Minister of Spain, Mr. Jaime Lissavetzky Diez at the presence of the Deputy General Director for Sport Cooperation Paralympics Sport, Higher Council for Sports, Mr Antonio Montalvo.

The meeting took place in Madrid on February 26, 2007 and was arranged to discuss the role of Spain in EUSA and the recent high contribution of the Spanish Student Association to EUSA activity.

Mr Diez assured Gualtieri and Jasnic the intentions of Spain to play a very important role for the cultural growth of the European students also thanks to University Sport Activity. Mr Diez guaranteed his support to the idea of EUSA to lead the discussion among the Continental University Associations towards a common work aimed at a more harmonic development of University Sport.

Common intent to operate with all countries whose Sport University Associations’ traditions share their roots with Spain and whose intentions are to give an important contribution in this area emerged at the visit.

EUSA President and Vice President on behalf of the Executive Committee and EUSA Members, showed their gratitude to Mr Diez for the helpfulness demonstrated in this occasion.
