The sporting stage is being set at the European Universities Games. This afternoon saw the first General Technical Meetings in Zagreb, as well as in Rijeka - host cities of the 3rd edition of the largest university sport event in Europe.

General Technical Meetings are crucial to the preparation of the competition. During these meetings, all team representatives are presented the rules and format of competition and the draw is conducted in team sports.



The local organising committee and EUSA representatives happy to see that over 2.000 participants have already arrived to Zagreb and Rijeka. They are welcomed also by over 1.200 volunteers, almost 200 of them international volunteers who give an important contribution to the event.



First competitions start on Tuesday, July 12 - both in Rijeka (Water Polo), as well as in Zagreb (Basketball, Chess, Karate, Rowing and Rugby 7’s).

A special Rector's Conference will be organised in Opatija and in Rijeka July11-13, and the event started today with the welcome speeches and will continue tomorrow and on Wednesday.
