Follow European Universities Games 2018

Whilst student athletes from all round the world are competing at the Universiade in Taipei, we are happy to announce the expansion of the social media channels of the European Universities Games 2018 that will be held in Coimbra, Portugal next summer.

The total number of competitors in Taipei is reaching beyond 7.300, and there is huge participation of European students representing their respective countries at the Universiade. Several hundred student athletes studying at universities and higher education institutes in Europe are taking part, many of whom are to return home with medals.

Organisers of the next European Universities Games have been continuously working on the event that will take place in July of 2018, and they are hoping to see many of the athletes that are competing now in Taipei also in Coimbra next summer! European University Sports Association (EUSA) and the local organisers in Coimbra are expecting over 4.000 participants to attend, compete within the 13 sports that will take place next year. Over 1.000 volunteers will add to the success of the event!

Alongside the sports events that will take place in Coimbra, student athletes will take part in multiple social events in the city, as well as enjoy cultural and educational activities with one of the oldest universities in the world. Whilst being on the UNESCO World Heritage list, the University of Coimbra brings a large population of students from around the world to Coimbra, which is why the city is renowned in Portugal as a student city.
