FISU WUC 2016 Seminar in Brussels

International University Sports Federation (FISU) organised a 3-day seminar for the Organising Committees of the 2016 World University Championships (WUC); the event took place in Brussels between May 6 and 8, 2015.

The seminar offered a lot of useful and key information in terms of logistic, administration and management of FISU WUC events. The presentations were done by different FISU departments and participants were also able to see some case studies from hosts of previous World University Championships.

Workshops

As next year 34 FISU championships (the highest number in the history of FISU WUC events) will be hosted throughout four continents, FISU also invited delegates of the four Continental University Sports Federations (EUSA, AUSF, FASU and ODUPA).

European University Sports Association (EUSA) was represented by its Secretary General Mr Matjaz Pecovnik and Sports Manager Mr Patrik Perosa. The Continental Association representatives from EUSA, AUSF, FASU and ODUPA also had an opportunity to exchange information about activities they run and visit the headquarters of the International Foundation for the Development of University Sport (FIDSU).

FISU Vice-President and Chair of the WUC ITC Mr Leonz Eder and WUC Director Mr Paulo Ferreira expressed their satisfaction about the attendance, content of the seminar and active involvement of the participants.

At the occasion of the Seminar, FIDSU Director Mr Laurent Briel EUSA Secretary General Mr Matjaz Pecovnik also took the opportunity to discuss the progress on 2015 EUSA projects supported by FISU and the plans for 2016.
