The President of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) Mr Oleg Matytsin has been appointed Sports Minister of the Russian Federation.

First elected as FISU President in 2015, Mr Matytsin was elected to a second term in November 2019. Mr Matytsin also served in the Executive Committee of the European University Sports Association (EUSA) between 2005-2016, being its Vice-President from 2007 to 2016.

This is undoubtedly a great honour, and EUSA congratulates Mr Matytsin at this occasion and recognises his efforts in promoting sport in general and university sport in particular, not only in Russia but also throughout Europe and all across the world.
