FISU preparing for 2018 and 2019 sports events

Nearing the start of 2018, the International University Sports Federation (FISU) is working on the new season of World University Championships and also looking forward to the 2019 Winter and Summer Universiade, working closely with the Organising Committees to prepare the events.

In 2018, World University Championships will be held in 34 sports all around the world; and we are proud to see that over half of them will be organised in Europe, in cooperation with the national university sports bodies in these countries, also members of the European University Sports Association (EUSA). Europe will also be the focal point in 2019 with both Universiades being hosted here.

Krasnoyarsk volunteers

In March 2019, the 29th Winter Universiade will be held Krasnoyarsk (RUS), featuring 18 sports. The hosts have started with trainings of the first team of volunteers from partner organisations, and started recruiting local volunteers.

Napoli team being defriefed by Taipei delegation

In July 2019, the anniversary 30th Summer Universiade will be held in the Naples (ITA), featuring 17 sports. Volunteer recruiting is also underway and in November, the organisers of the Taipei Universiade travelled to Italy for a 4-day debriefing, sharing operational and organisational lessons learned and passing on the experience to the next hosts.
