The International University Sports Federation (FISU) announced the calendar for their sports events in 2022, with the World University Championships and University World Cups, having also the postponed Summer World University Games in 2022.

The 2022 FISU World University Championships calendar foresees 15 events, 8 of them being hosted in Europe; while 7 University World Cups are planned for 2022, 6 of them to be held in Europe.

The next edition of the FISU Summer World University Games, formerly known as the Universiade, was scheduled to be held in Chengdu (CHN) in 2021, and has been postponed to be held next year between June 26 and July 7. The Winter edition will be held in Lucerne (SUI), between December 11 and 21 this year.



At the World University Games and the World University Championships, the competitions take place between national teams or athletes representing their country, while at the University World Cups (formerly also known as the World University Leagues), the competitions are between university teams or athletes representing their universities.
