First teams arriving

With the European Universities Games coming closer to the official Opening Ceremony on July 24, and the competitions also starting shortly, the first teams of participants have started arriving to Rotterdam.

 

The volunteers, representatives of the Organising Committee and the European University Sports Association (EUSA) are welcoming the athletes, official and other participants at the main hub of the event at the Woudestein Campus of the Erasmus University Rotterdam.

Welcome bags

 

Participants receive a welcome bag with the most relevant information and accreditation, which will be used as the main means of identification during the entire event.

The European Universities Games Rotterdam 2014 will bring together athletes and officials from all around Europe and the event will combine sports, education, culture and socialising, promoting the values of university sport in all fields.

The success of the event depends on many important stakeholders, from founders, partners and sponsors, to cross-sector cooperation, dedicated organisers, enthusiastic volunteers and team of officials, managers, referees and others. Only a combination of all these aspects, in good mutual cooperation guarantees an event which is professional but enjoyable at the same time.

Almost 200 universities are represented in Rotterdam

 

Several internal meetings are being held on daily basis to make sure things are running, and that improvements are implemented if needed. 

Sport SCAC meeting

 

For each sport a Supervision, Control and Arbitration Commission (SCAC) has been established, focusing mainly on the sports aspect and technical regulations.

Daily general SCAC meetings

 

A general SCAC Commission also meets daily, having representatives of the Organising Committee and EUSA, to discuss relevant issues, synchronise planning and making sure that the participants of the Games will be able to experience a great event.
