FIBA Europe gathered in Munich

FIBA Europe members met in Munich, Germany on May 16 and 17, 2014, for the 2014 FIBA Europe General Assembly, where the 47 members represented met, discussed and confirmed their the plans and elected the new board. Mr Turgay Demirel was elected the new President of FIBA Europe for the term of office 2014-2018.

 

The former President Olafur Rafnsson who passed away in June 2013, was remembered at the Assembly by being named as an honorary Member of FIBA Europe.

Present at the Assembly was also Mr Ilan Kowalsky, Technical delegate of the European University Sports Association (EUSA) for Basketball 3x3.

Mr Kowalsky received a special recognition for his dedication to basketball in the period 2010-2014. The award to Mr Kowalsky was given by FIBA Europe Secretary General Mr Kamil Novak and outgoing FIBA Europe Acting President Mr Cyriel Coomans.
