Exciting line-up for future European Universities Championships

Following April first Executive Committee (EC) meeting of 2025 in Tbilisi, Georgia, EUSA is pleased to announce several Championships attributions for events taking place in 2026 and 2027.
As the European University Sports Association (EUSA) continues to promote university sport across the continent, several cities have stepped forward with compelling bids to host upcoming editions of the European Universities Championships.
The following biddings were presented, approved and confirmed at the recent Executive Committee Meeting.
European Universities Combat Sports Championship 2026 - Tirana, Albania
Tirana, the capital of Albania, will host the European Universities Combat Championships in 2026, with the attribution pending final approval. Tirana has successfully hosted the European Universities Football Championship in 2023, and with that experience, has already demonstrated its capability to organise large-scale university sports events. The city offers a welcoming environment and modern facilities that promise a high-quality championship setting.
European Universities Rowing Championship 2026 - Zagreb, Croatia
Zagreb, Croatia's capital, is one of the most experienced EUSA host cities, and will once again organise the European Universities Rowing Championship in 2026. Also bidding for the 2027 edition of the EUC in Combat was La Nucía, Spain – a city recognised for its outstanding investment in sports and declared a “Sports City”. La Nucía offers state-of-the-art venues and a supportive local community, and it is located near the Mediterranean coast in the Alicante province, known for its high-level competition and intercultural exchange backdrop.
European Universities Powerlifting Championship 2027 - Split, Croatia
2028 EUSA European Universities Games future organiser, Split, Croatia will host the first ever EUC Powerlifting in 2027. These candidate cities reflect the diversity and richness of the European university sport movement.
