The hosting organisations of the participants have different profiles, the majority dedicated to work in youth centres, in sport or with disabled people. The EVS main aim is to develop the young people’s sense of solidarity by participating in non-profit voluntary activities abroad and to help them to get proper access to the labour market after their service. Within EUSA, EVS and internship as long-term training opportunities are also supported by the International University Sports Federation (FISU).

Workshops

The 5-day-program gave a platform to the 30 new-arrivals to introduce themselves and their hosting organisations, to form new connections between each other and to get to know more about their right and responsibilities during their stay. The week also included games and presentations about the meaning and recognition of non-formal education, as well as project management workshop and one day to perform a project connecting with the local community of Piran or Portorož.

Sports

The event was led by a group of experienced youth trainers and organized by Movit, the national agency responsible for EU youth programmes in Slovenia. The volunteers which arrived to fulfil their one year service, will meet again in the mid-term evaluation, which will be organized also by Movit in February.
