EVS Mentors training in Ljubljana

EVS Mentors training in Ljubljana

Mentors of volunteers taking part in the Erasmus+ projects of European Voluntary Service (EVS) and European Solidarity Corps (ESC) on the territory of Slovenia, met in mid April for a training in Ljubljana. European University Sports Association (EUSA) with its Institute was also represented.

Within the volunteering opportunities through the EU-funded projects, special emphasis is given on the mentorship, so Movit, the national Youth Agency in Slovenia, organised a special training for the mentors working with organisations carrying out EVS and ESC projects.

Teamwork and experience sharing

The mentors discussed their support roles and needs of the volunteers, got acquainted with the tools to monitor their learning process and were able to share their experiences.

The event was facilitated by My Alenka Oblak, and was attended on behalf of the EUSA Institute by Mr Matija Kurnik, as one of the independent mentors who supports the EVS volunteers who are currently doing their service with EUSA and our Institute.

Talk and Walk session

In September 2018, we will be joined by two new EVS volunteers for a period of one year. The next opportunity for young people to apply for an EVS/ESC service starting in September 2019 will open in the beginning of next year.
