Evaluation Visit EUSA Games 2016
The organisers of the European Universities Games 2016 hosted the representatives of the European University Sports Association (EUSA) for the evaluation visit regarding the proposal to enlarge the sports programme of the Games, also having a series of meetings between May 11 and 13, 2014 in Zagreb and Rijeka, Croatia.
 
EUSA was represented in the first part by Mrs Ivana Ertlova, member of the EUSA Executive Committee and Chair of the Technical Commission; Mr Piotr Marszal, Technical Commission Vice-Chair, and Mr Patrik Perosa, EUSA Sports Manager.

They were welcomed by the Secretary General of the Organising Committee Mr Gordan Gozulj, CASF President Mr Zrinko Custonja, Vice-President of CASF and the European Universities Games 2016 Association Mr Haris Pavletic. An overall presentation and introduction of the proposed additional sports was given by the hosts, representatives of the Organising Committee and the Croatian Academic Sports Federation (CASF).

Present at the meetings and evaluation visits were also Mr Marko Zunic, Secretary General of the European Universities Games 2016 Association; Mr Ronald Strumberger, Secretary General of CASF; Ms Jelena Matesic, Office Manager and other representatives of the local institutions and events coordinators. The delegation visited the venues and facilities of the proposed sports in Zagreb and Rijeka.

In the second part of the visit, the organisers hosted the EUSA Office staff – Mr Matjaz Pecovnik, Secretary General, Mr Patrik Perosa, Sports Manager and Mr Andrej Pisl, Communications and Projects Manager. Together with the hosts they discussed the general matters, including the structures, promotional strategies, reporting requirements and operational management, activity plan for the current year and exchanging practical information to optimise cooperation.

Participants also took the opportunity to discuss the plans and programme of the next EUSA Conference, which is to be held in Dubrovnik, Croatia in 2015. An important topic in the discussion were also the joint projects, with a special focus on the introduction of sports for students with disabilities and possibilities of sustainable integration in the EUSA sports programme.
 
The more detailed report from these meetings will be presented at the next EUSA Executive Committee Meeting, which will be held June 12-15 in Tbilisi, Georgia.
