EUSA Youth Exchange Programme kick-off during EUG2024
Together with the local hosts and the EUSA Student Commission, a Youth Exchange action supported by Erasmus+ programme, and co-funded by the European Union, is taking place alongside the 2024 European Universities Games in Debrecen-Miskolc (HUN) and held its kick-off meeting today July 8, 2024.
The project is open to young people with a special focus on those with fewer opportunities. During this program, which takes place from the 8th to the 19th, the volunteers will participate in different activities such as workshops.
This action aims to foster intercultural dialogue and learning and feeling of being European; develop skills and attitudes of young people; strengthen European values and break down prejudices and stereotypes; raise awareness about socially relevant topics and thus stimulate engagement in society and active participation in democratic life.
Today's session started with the introduction of the programme, and EUSA presentation through the different sports events it organizes, as well as the educational aspects of EUSA Institute. Then, the program and schedule were presented in detail, highlighting the various activities taking place during this EUG. The main topics will cover volunteering, mental health, sustainability, social inclusion, and fair play - topics EUSA develops in its various projects and which constitute its core values.
This first session was also an opportunity for the volunteers to get to know each other better through different icebreaker games, starting the program in good spirits and creating a safe space for everyone.
The applicant and coordinator entity of the youth exchange is the EUSA Institute, which is a proudly accredited Erasmus+ organisation, also holding a quality label for European Solidarity Corps Projects (ESC).
The complete partner consortium is composed of organisations from 6 countries: Slovenia: EUSA Institute (coordinator); Hungary: MEAFC - University of Miskolc Sports Club (hosts); Albania: FSHSU - Albanian Federation of University Sport; Croatia: HASS/CASF - Croatian Academic Sports Federation; Finland: OLL - Finnish Student Sports Federation; Poland: AZS - University Sports Association of Poland.
