EUSA President Mr Adam Roczek and Secretary General Mr Matjaz Pecovnik visited Zagreb on June 30, 2014 to meet with the representatives of European Universities Games 2016, Mr Zrinko Custonja, President, Mr Haris Pavletic, Vice President and Mr Marko Zunic, Secretary General.

 

Representatives of the European University Sports Association and the European Universities Games 2016 discussed the matters connected to the organisation of the event, focusing on dates, number and allocation of sports between the cities Zagreb and Rijeka, and covered some financial, legal and marketing matters.

 

Afterwards, a meeting with the newly elected Rector of the University of Zagreb, prof. dr. Damir Boras was organised. They were also joined by Mr Damir Knjaz, Dean of Faculty of Kinesiology and Mr Pejo Pavlovic, Director of the Student Center of University of Zagreb. Mr Boras, who starts his mandate on October 2014, stressed his full support of the University in the organisation of the European Universities Games.

 

During the meeting it was also announced that the representatives of the Organising Committee will attend and promote the event also during this year’s European Universities Games, which start in a couple of weeks in Rotterdam.
