EUSA Vice-President Matytsin receives Doctor Honoris Causa

Mr Oleg V. Matytsin, Vice-President of the European University Sport Association (EUSA) was awarded with Doctor Honoris Causa by the Lithuanian Sports University in Kaunas. The honorary doctorate for his extraordinary achievements in the field of university sports was presented to Mr Matytsin by the Chairman of the Senate.

The ceremony in Kaunas was held on May 14, 2015 and was attended by many guest, among them also Mr Adam Roczek, EUSA President, Mr Arie Rosenzweig, EUSA EC Member and Mr Matjaz Pecovnik, EUSA Secretary General; together with many university sports officials, including Mr Marian Dymalski and Mrs Kairis Ulp (both FISU Assesors), Mr Andrzej Hrehorowicz (EUSA TD Table Tennis), Mr Ants Veetõusme (EASL President) and Mr Tarmo Jaakson (EASL Secretary General).

The laudation was given by prof. dr. Rasa Jankauskiene, University Vice-Rector for Studies. After, the Doctor Honoris Causa Diploma was presented to Mr Matytsin by prof. dr. Aleksas Stanislovaitis, the Chairman of the Senate.

Mr Ceslovas Garbaliauskas

Mr Ceslovas Garbaliauskas, President of Lithuanian Student Sport Association, underlined the important role played by the EUSA Vice President Mr Matytsin, who is also the First Vice President of the International University Sports Federation, President of Russian Student Sport Union and President of the Russian State University of Physical Education, Sport, Youth and Tourism; in the development of the university sport on national, European and International level.

At the end, Mr Matytsin addressed the audience and thanked the university for the big honour shown by this honorary title.
