EUSA thanks all the volunteers on December 5

On the occasion of December 5, the International Volunteers Day, the European University Sports Association (EUSA) would like to celebrate all the volunteers and volunteer candidates who have dedicated their time and energy to participate in the EUSA Volunteer Programme. Volunteers play a crucial role in the success of the EUSA events. These events could not be organised without the help of the enthusiastic volunteers, therefore we are very grateful to everyone who decided to join the volunteer programme in the last years.

Volunteer!

We want to thank all the volunteers and volunteer candidates for your commitment to be part of the EUSA events and your contribution to the success of the European Universities Games and European Universities Championships. Thank you for your great support and all your efforts! We truly hope to welcome you at the EUSA events in the future again!

International Volunteer Day (IVD)

At the same time, we would like to in invite those who wish to join us for the largest European university sports event to register for the European Universities Games Coimbra 2018!

We are excited share a few quotes from our volunteers:

Mihaela Stiglic
“I love positive vibes around me and when volunteering this has always been the case. I volunteer because of people I meet, athletes I cheer for, officials I speak too, staff I help ... and mostly precious friendships starting while volunteering.” (Mihaela Stiglic, Slovenia)

Eszter Gulyas
"Once I started, I can't stop it! And I don't want to, it became a part of me." (Eszter Gulyas, Hungary)

Ivan Sremec
"The people, cultures, memories, connections and inside jokes are worth every sleepless day/hour (and there where many).  Everything and everyone can't fit in one picture, and I've been fortunate to meet them." (Ivan Sremec, Croatia)

Beatriz Teixeira
"The huge energy to be a volunteer is not an effort. It becomes happiness and freedom." (Beatriz Teixeira, Portugal)

Nenad Ruzic
“Volunteering is believing that great teamwork is only thing you need to achieve incredible things.” (Nenad Ruzic, Serbia)

Mia Budic
“I volunteer because I think we are designed to help one another. Help comes in many forms, and I believe that volunteering is one of the best way to make a difference. Someone once said: “Remember that the happiest people are not those getting more, but those giving more.” Remember that, give a little of yourself and you can’t even imagine the love, the friendship and happiness that you will receive back.” (Mia Budic, Croatia)

Please see our special EUSA volunteers Facebook page for more images and quotes, and we welcome volunteers to take part and join us in Coimbra!
