EUSA Student Commission full online meeting
Following the introductory meeting in February, the EUSA Student Commission met online for a full working meeting on Friday, April 5.
EUSA President Mr Adam Roczek and EUSA Secretary General Mr Matjaz Pecovnik also attended the first part of the meeting, wishing them a successful and enjoyable 2-year mandate and a productive meeting.
The meeting was lead by the Chair of the EUSA Student Commission Ms Klea Taipllari who is also a full member of the Executive Committee Commission, and EUSA Projects and Policy Manager Mr Andrej Pisl, acting as the Secretary of the Commission.
Main aim of the EUSA Student Commission (STC) is to protect students’ interests in EUSA, make recommendations to EUSA Executive Committee on the development, implementation and promotion of non-sports student-participation activities. In the 2024-25 mandate, it is composed of the Chair and the commission’s Secretary, and five appointed members: Atte Kolehmainen from Finland, Francisca Coko from Croatia, Jan Sobczak from Poland, Nicoleta Mirzac from Moldova and Reka Molnar from Hungary.
After the initial welcomes and introductions, the members reviewed the EUSA activities of the past year, including the sports programme and educational activities, as well as projects.
Member of the Commission Ms Reka Molnar from Hungary gave a detailed introduction to the upcoming edition of the European Universities Games, which will be hosted in the cities of Debrecen and Miskolc between July 12 and 24 this summer.
While the general registration to compete in the event has been closed, the participating universities have time until April 12 to submit the Quantitative forms. It is still possible to be a part of the project as a volunteer, with registration deadline of April 30.
Other engagement of the EUSA Student Commission was also discussed, including the EUSA What’s Up Student Column, FISU Volunteer Leaders Academy (FVLA), European Universities Games 2024 (EUG2024), FISU Forum 2024, Networking and cooperation with key partners, as well as engagement and opportunities in EU-funded projects.
The members will again meet online in a month, followed by in-person meeting during the European Universities Games Debrecen-Miskolc 2024.
