EUSA shares knowledge in Slavonski Brod
EUSA was honoured to be present in the eastern Croatian city of Slavonski Brod as an invited guest to deliver a presentation to students and local organisations on University Sport in Europe.
EUSA Sports Manager Mr Besim Aliti joined Croatian Academic Sports Federation President Mr Zrinko Custonja as invited speakers at the event, organised by the College of Slavonski Brod.
Also present for the day’s talks was Mr Krunoslav Mirosavljevic, Dean of the College, together with Vice Dean Mr Hrvoje Sivric.
Mr Aliti used his wealth of experience to give an overview of university sport on the continent, before highlighting various organisational and event management aspects.
Over 200 students were present on the day, as well as several representatives from local sports organisations.
Croatia is no stranger to hosting university sport events, having hosted the biggest European Universities Games in EUSA history so far in Zagreb and Rijeka three years ago, while this year Zagreb played host to both the European Universities Beach Handball and Combat Championships, with the latter seeing more than 1200 participants involved.
Two Croatian cities have already been confirmed as hosts for EUSA Championships in 2021, with Split hosting the European Universities Futsal Championships and Zagreb once again hosting the Combat event.
