EUSA present at FISU-NUSF Seminar in Taipei
FISU, with it's continental federations FISU Oceania and the Asian University Sports Federation and in conjunction with the Chinese Taipei University Sport Federation, held a FISU-NUSF Seminar in New Taipei City, Taiwan, where EUSA was also present.
Held over the International Day of University Sport on September 20, the two-day seminar brought together almost 50 delegates from 18 different countries across Asia and Oceania under the topic 'Media and Sports Development’, where challenges, ideas and best practices were shared, and media-related workshops held.
Invited to present EUSA’s media strategy and university sport promotion in Europe was EUSA’s Communications Officer Mr Fabio De Dominicis.
President of FISU Oceania Mr Martin Doulton kicked off proceedings as CTUSF Secretary-General Mr Ching-Yu Tseng welcomed all those present, following which presentations regarding the Development Programmes of FISU, AUSF and FISU Oceania were made.
Representatives from Nepal and Papua New Guinea then shared their experiences and challenges, before FISU’s Media and Communication Manager Ms Tina Sharma spoke about the Federation’s media strategy, coverage and reach.
AUSF’s Ms Polly Wei then shared the federation’s media volunteer plan; Ms Sarah Anderson spoke about media coverage of New Zealand University Sport before Mr De Dominicis spoke in detail of EUSA’s extensive activities and coverage thereof, following which a panel discussion wrapped up proceedings on day one.
The second and final day began with a presentation by FOX Sports Asia, followed by further presentations by various NUSFs present and a media workshop facilitated by Ms Sharma.
Concluding remarks and final thoughts were then shared to wrap up the successful seminar, with attendees invigorated and encouraged to continue their best efforts in promoting university sport across the globe.
