EUSA Office hosts Technical Commission meeting

A one-day meeting was held with the EUSA Technical Commission and EUSA staff in Ljubljana, Slovenia on October 22, as various sports operations were discussed ahead of next year’s European Universities Games and the following year’s European Universities Championships.

Technical Commission members present included the Commission’s Chair Mr Joerg Foerster, Vice-Chair Mr Andrzej Hrehorowicz, as well as Commission members Mr Murat Aslan and Mr Marko Zunic.

EUSA Office attendees included Secretary General Mr Matjaz Pecovnik, Sports Manager Mr Besim Aliti, Assistant Sports Manager Mr Liam Smith and Sports Assistant Ms Lea Medvesek.

Technical Commission working meeting in Ljubljana

With the Technical Commission’s role to supervise the competition and technical aspects of EUSA sports events, the meeting began with an overview of the Rules and Regulations, as well as the Minimum Organisational Requirements, for next year, while potential amendments and adjustments were discussed.

Following a meeting between EUSA staff and the European Universities Games Organising Committee last week, a progress report of the Games, which will take place in Belgrade, Serbia in July 2020, was then discussed.

An evaluation of the EUSA Technical Delegates for each sport was then made, with discussions had surrounding the future strategy for Technical Delegate nomination.

Focus then shifted to the 2021 European Universities Championships, while looking ahead to the 2023 edition as well, evaluating various aspects of the upcoming events as well as the bidding procedures, before the meeting concluded with discussions surrounding current and potential future partnerships with various European federations.
