EUSA-NUSA online meeting - December 2024

On December 11, 2025, the European University Sports Association (EUSA) hosted an insightful EUSA-NUSA online meeting in the form of a webinar, having as the main topic the upcoming European Universities Championships 2025, the schedule of the next EUC 2027 and European Universities Games of the future, EU Projects and funding opportunities, as well as relevant updates from the organisation.

The online meeting gathered 62 registered participants from 30 countries, representing National University Sports Associations (NUSAs) from across Europe, as partner organizations. This meeting aimed to update and acquaint all the members with information about EUSA undertakings and projects, as well as reflect on recent events such as the European Universities Games 2024 and EUSA 25th Anniversary Gala and Conference.

The event started with a warm welcome speech by EUSA President, Adam Roczek, who thanked all the participants for their support and attendance. Before passing the floor to EUSA Secretary General, he briefly summarised this year’s EUSA events and thanked all the Organizing Committees for their splendid work.

Afterwards, Matjaz Pecovnik, EUSA Secretary General, took over presenting a recap of EUSA activities, starting with the last European Universities Games in Hungary, going through the EUSA Convention in Salerno, and finishing with EUSA 25th Anniversary in Vienna.

He also provided updates on upcoming sports events, open bidding processes, new office staff, and the upcoming electoral General Assembly in October 2025.

Miha Zvan, EUSA Sports Manager, presented a detailed program for the upcoming European Universities Championships 2025 season, covering all the dates and locations.

Then Aleksandra Andreeva, EUSA Sports Administrator reminded all the participants of the registration deadlines and fees for the upcoming sports events.

Liam Smith continued the webinar with the details about bidding for European Universities Championships 2027 and presenting the confirmed locations for some events in that season.

The EUSA-NUSA finished with a presentation on EU projects by Andrej Pisl, EUSA Projects and Policy Manager.

He highlighted the funding opportunities, with a focus on the European Union supported projects, and encouraged the audience to explore these prospects as a chance to collaborate on various areas of university sport and access additional funding, sharing the 2025 call for EUSA Erasmus+ Sport & Youth Funding.

EUSA-NUSA meetings are held regularly, both online and in person, to keep NUSAs updated on EUSA’s activities and strengthen the collaboration among all the members.
