With heavy heart we share the news with you that today, at the age of 62, prof dr Yevgeniy Imas, unexpectedly passed away.

Mr Imas was the President of the Sports Students' Union of Ukraine (SSUU) and Rector of the National University of Ukraine on Physical Education and Sport (NUFVSU) and Executive Committee member of the European University Sports Association (EUSA).

His engagement and contribution in the field of science, sport and specifically also university was well-recognised in Ukraine, Europe and internationally. He was also the Chair of the Sustainable Development and Heritage in Sports Commission with the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine, Honoured Economist of Ukraine, Honorary Academic of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Full Knight of the Order of Merit, amongst others.

Mr Imas was a true example of leadership and action for his colleagues, institutions and also for younger generation, leaving us much too soon, and will be deeply missed.

EUSA grieves his loss and conveys the sympathy to his family and the loved ones, as well to our friends from the Sports Students' Union of Ukraine.
