EUSA meets FADU in Ljubljana

On 30 of January, a delegation from the Portugal University Sport Federation (FADU), led by President Mr Ricardo Nora, visited EUSA Office in Ljubljana for a meeting with representatives of the European University Sport Association (EUSA).

The occasion was used to present some of the new elements that now form part of FADU's directive and operational structure and to talk about future collaborations between the two entities that oversee university sports in Portugal and Europe.

From Portugal, in addition to the president of FADU, present were the Vice-president, Mr Gabriel Tavares, the Secretary General, Mr Arménio Coelho, and the coordinator of the International Activity Support Office, Mr Marco Oliveira. EUSA Delegation was consisted of the President of EUSA Mr Adam Roczek, Secretary General Mr Matjaz Pecovnik, Sports Manager Mr Miha Zvan Education and Development Manager Ms Sara Rozman and Vice-President of EUSA Mr Bruno Barracosa.

On the meeting, the organizations discussed the three European university championships that Portugal will host in 2023 - in Braga, Aveiro and Lisbon - as well as future partnerships, both in the organization of events and in the development of educational projects, potential future events, ongoing projects from both sides and ideas for future collaborations.
The representatives of FADU used the opportunity to give an official invitation to EUSA, to attend the FADU anniversary and the Final Phases of the National University Championships, as well.

Over the three day visit of FADU in Ljubljana, the representatives had the chance to enjoy the sites of the city and an official dinner hosted by EUSA.

As one example of great collaboration between FADU and EUSA, are the three European Universities Championships that will take place in Portugal this year, the European Universities Volleyball Championship in Braga from 16 to 23 July, the European Universities Basketball Championship scheduled to take place between 23 and 30 of July in the city of Aveiro, and the European Universities Championship in Rugby7s that expected to take place from 28-31 of August in the Portuguese capital, Lisbon.
