EUSA MCC map out the way forward

The EUSA Media and Communications Commission (MCC) held an online meeting on Saturday, June 6, with discussions revolving around the association’s communication and engagement strategy.

Commission members Mr Bill Thompson (Chair), Mr Andrej Pisl (Secretary), Mr Moritz Belmann, Mr Kacper Czarnota and Ms Emilie Zakariassen were in attendance, along with EUSA Communications Officer Mr Fabio De Dominicis.

While the MCC meets regularly on a monthly basis, Saturday’s virtual meeting replaced what would have been the Commission’s annual live meeting, with the purpose of going into more depth while discussing EUSA’s current media outputs, strategies and vision, yet due to travel restrictions the meeting was held online.

With meeting attendees residing in five different locations across Europe, Commission members first shared their experiences from their different countries over the previous months, with the current COVID-19 pandemic and its effects being the main point of discussion.

An update from the EUSA Office, along with an overview of media-related European Union projects, were then shared, before which meeting attendees moved onto discussions surrounding EUSA’s communication and engagement strategy, analysing what has been done so far this year before giving feedback and brainstorming future ideas and areas of improvement.

Branding-related matters were then discussed, before an activity plan for the coming months was presented and discussed.

New forms of media and engagement will be instilled over the coming months across EUSA’s various platforms with new and exciting propositions in place, as the association continues its best efforts to serve the university sport movement across the continent.

The outcomes of the MCC meeting will be presented to the various other EUSA commissions at the upcoming EUSA Executive Committee meeting, scheduled for the end of June.
