On the occasion of the State Restoration Day, 16th of February, the President of the Republic of Lithuania Mr Gitanas Nausėda presented state awards for services to Lithuania and for promoting its name in the world.

The President awarded the medal of the Order of the Grand Duke Gediminas of Lithuania to Mr Česlovas Garbaliauskas, EUSA Honorary Member and long-time president of the Lithuanian Student Sports Association, handball player, coach, sports scientist for nurturing and developing student sports in Lithuania.

According to the President, exceptional personalities who are not satisfied with the present and persistently create a common future for all of us deserve the greatest gratitude. By devoting their talents, strength and time to the benefit of Lithuania and the well-being of its people, they expand the boundaries of all our possibilities.

According to the head of the country, it is really good to know that so many bright people work tirelessly in art, culture, education, science, sports and other fields, promote care and volunteering, take care of the future of their community or country.
