EUSA Games presided by the King of Spain
The Spanish Royal Household confirmed to the Organising Committee of the 1st European Universities Games that His Majesty, the King Juan Carlos I, accepted the chairing of the Honour Committee of the EUSA Games. Such great news will for sure raise the relevance of the event which will gather over 3000 participants from all over Europe next summer.
As a keen sportsman himself, King Juan Carlos supports and appreciates sporting activities as a formative influence of unquestionable social value. The King and Queen and the rest of the Royal Family frequently attend sporting events.
The European Universities Games will be held for the first time in Cordoba, Spain between July 13 and 23, 2012. The second edition of the EUSA Games has also recently been attributed, and will take place in Rotterdam, the Netherlands in 2014.
Royal patronage of the Games honours EUSA and the Organising committee, who are diligently preparing everything needed for the successful launch of the premier edition of this multi-sport celebration of university sport in Europe, which is on a good way to become one of the most important sport events in the continent. The event already has full support from the University of Cordoba and the Municipality of Cordoba.
To participate in the Games, the teams need to be registered through their National university sports associations - EUSA member federations. Since interest is high and format of the competitions limited, early registration and deposit payment is strongly advised.
