EUSA Equal Opportunities Commission meets in Ljubljana

On Friday, November 24, the Equal Opportunities Commission of the European University Sports Association (EUSA) held its first meeting at the EUSA Office in Ljubljana.

Equal Opportunities Commission is chaired by EUSA Executive Member Mr Aitor Canibe Sanchez and has two members. Present at the meeting was Ms Kay Biscomb, Associate Dean and Director of the Institute of Sport at the University of Wolverhampton (GBR) and Ms Sara Rozman, who serves as the Commission’s secretary. Ms Krisztina Szentkiralyi-Szasz was unfortunately not able to attend the meeting due to illness.

After welcome address by Mr Canibe Sanchez, EUSA Communications and Projects Manager Mr Andrej Pisl gave general introduction of EUSA and its activities to the newly appointed members of the Commission. Members of the Commission were introduced with main activities of Equal Opportunities Commission, its goals and future projects. When presenting the future project, Ms Anett Fodor, Secretary General of Budapest Sport Union presented the project Empowered nations, where EUSA Institute is the leading partner and Ms Fodor will serve as the projects coordinator.

The last part of the meeting gave attention to Members’ initiatives, their ideas and reflection of the work that falls under this Commission. After the conclusions, Mr Canibe Sanchez officially closed the meeting. Joined by EUSA intern Mr Liam Smith, participants of the meeting also enjoyed a #beactive sightseeing tour of Ljubljana, and will meet again next year.
