EUSA EC meets for the first time in 2021
Members of the EUSA Executive Committee gathered virtually for the first meeting of 2021 on Thursday, February 4 as events and activities of the association over the coming year were discussed.
The meeting began with a report of activities from the previous meeting in December, following which a financial report was given, including a report on the Development Fund applications received, with the Executive Committee approving funding for selected developing members in 2021.
The year’s activities were then discussed in detail, beginning with this summer’s highly-anticipated European Universities Games taking place in Belgrade, Serbia. A report was given on the competition’s registration status before COVID-19 protocol at the event was presented. A Supervision Commission meeting is set to take place in Belgrade later this month ahead of an online meeting with all EUSA’s National University Sports Associations in March.
Reports were then presented focusing on this year’s first European Universities Cycling Championship, taking place in Nijmegen, the Netherlands in June, as well as next year’s European Universities Games, being organised in Lodz, Poland.
A final update was given regarding this year’s virtual EUSA Awards Ceremony taking place on Thursday, February 11, which will be a celebration of European university sports, reflecting on the recent most memorable action in both EUSA and FISU events while awarding outstanding individuals, universities and associations for their achievements and contribution to university sport.
The virtual ceremony will take place at 17:00 CET, with interested parties asked to please register at www.eusa.eu/registration-form.
