EUSA contributes at an international futsal congress
An exclusive event with leading futsal experts, Futsal is here: Global Development Forum, was held in the period of June 23-25 in Poreč, Croatia. The Congress was dedicated to those working within futsal in football federations and competition organizers.
One of the key speakers of the event was Mr Tomasz Aftanski, EUSA Futsal Technical Delegate, who presented the development of futsal on university level.
“I am extremely satisfied with the recognition of our events: European Universities Championships and European Universities Games. It is more than clear that this sport has a special place in the university environment. The instant grow of the game is our aim,” said Mr Aftanski.
Our representative introduced not only EUSA and FISU events but also mentioned about the role of the Technical Delegate, benefits for federation of a strong university eco-system and moderate a discussion about how federation can support university futsal.
EUSA engagement in the development of futsal was noticed also by Mr Matija Đulvat – National Team Head Coach of Sweden, Mr Mico Martić – former National Team Head Coach of Finland and Mr Jorge Braz – National Team Head Coach of Portugal. Mr Braz has been with the Portugal FA since 2006 and during their meteoric rise from a developing futsal nation to one of the world’s strongest. In 2010 he became a Head Coach of the men’s senior team and led them to their current position as World and European Champions. He also made a unique speech about futsal development and leadership.
This event was a great opportunity to discover effective strategies for futsal development and learn from case studies in different countries. Topics included player/coach development, growing participation, competition organization, promotion, women’s futsal, and refereeing were a special value for each participant.
Attendance at this event exclusively offered a unique opportunity to gain valuable knowledge from leading experts and connect with colleagues from all over the world that are facing the same challenges. Participants had also the opportunity to attend a “Futsal Week” tournament series with National Futsal Championship for U19 men and Senior Women’s.
