Volunteers working in the EUSA Office in Ljubljana, Slovenia organised an enjoyable and successful EUSA #BeActive Challenge which took place in the picturesque Tivoli Park in central Ljubljana on Wednesday, June 17.

The Challenge took the form of an adventure race around the multi-purpose and largely forested park, where teams of two to three members were required to reach five different locations in the surrounding area by working out cryptic clues given to them by the organisers.

Posted at each location was a EUSA flag, in front of which all team members were required to take a selfie and send it to the Challenge organisers before receiving the clue for the next location.



The team who reached the finish after successfully finding all five locations in the shortest time was declared the winner.



Over 30 university students, young adults and Erasmus exchange students from countries across the continent took part, with a trio of local Slovenian orienteers emerging as overall victors.



The aim of the event was to encourage university students and young adults to enjoy an unusual outdoor physical activity while simultaneously respecting the COVID-19 prevention measures.

The event also served as a promotion of a healthy and active lifestyle, promoting the European Week of Sport and #BeActive campaign, as well as the Orienteering competition that will be held during the fifth European Universities Games in July 2021 in Belgrade, Serbia.



At the end of the race, all the participants showed great sportsmanship, enthusiasm and spirit in welcoming the remaining teams to the finish line before engaging in humorous discussions about the route and clues given during the Challenge.



The first EUSA #BeActive Challenge was enjoyed by both participants and organisers alike, with the event providing an enjoyable learning experience for both the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) and Italian Organisation for Sports Education (OPES) volunteers working in the EUSA Office.
