The Opening Ceremony of Beach Volleyball as one of the two sports part of the European Universities Beach Sports Championship took place on 19th September in Rincon de la Victoria's Beach (Malaga).

The Beach Volleyball competition will take place from 20th to 24th September in Rincón de la Victoria, hosting 24 male teams and 24 female teams from as many as 41 universities from 21 countries.

The Ceremony was attended by Mr. Francisco Salado (Mayor of Rincón de la Victoria) and Mr. Francisco Murillo (Vice-rector for Students and sports of the University of Málaga), who welcomed all participants.

EUSA Executive Committee representative and EUSA SCAC Chair for Beach Volleyball Mr. Bruno Barracosa welcomed all participants and wished all the teams and participants who came to test their skills and abilities well ahead of the start of the competition, while also thanking the Organising Committee for all their contributions.

Once the European Universities Beach Sports Championship was declared open, all people attending to the Opening Ceremony had the opportunity to enjoy two cultural performances: Panda de Verdiales El Manantial, and the flamenco group Luisa Chicano with its spectacle called ‘Ensencias’.

The competition is organised by the University of Malaga with the contribution of Consejo Superior de Deportes (National Sports Council), Diputación Provincial de Málaga (Provincial Council of Malaga), Junta de Andalucía (Andalusian Government), Rincón de la Victoria's Town Hall and Torrox's Town Hall.

The University of Malaga has a vaste experience organizing international events such as the 13ᵗʰ World University Golf Championship 2010, the 8ᵗʰ European Universities Beach-Volleyball Championship 2011, the 9ᵗʰ European Universities Futsal championship 2013, the 14ᵗʰ World University Futsal Championship 2014, the 23ᵗʰ World University Handball Championship 2016, the 9ᵗʰ European Universities Handball Championship 2017 and the 6ᵗʰ European Universities Golf Championship 2019.

EUSA is represented by Mr. Miha Zvan, EUSA Sports Manager, Mr. Bruno Barracosa EUSA SCAC CHAIR Beach Volleyball, Ms. Eszter Gulyas, EUSA Representative and the Technical Delegate, Mr. Anton Fichtinger.

Prior to the Opening Ceremony, the General Technical Meeting and the official draw, took place.
