EUSA awarded at University of Granada Sports Gala
On the occasion of the University of Granada Sports Gala 2024, that took place on September 27th in Granada, Spain, the European University Sports Association (EUSA) received an award as a recognition for its 25 years leading university sport in Europe.
The Sports Gala 2024 took place at the Auditorium of the Health Technology Park, organized by Univerisity of Granada, was attended by 300 people, in addition to the award winners, among which representatives of higher instances, both from local and international level. The Sports Gala at the University of Granada coincides with the European Week of Sport, in which multiple events have been organised.
At the Gala, EUSA was payed this special tribute as a remark of the 25 years of leadership in university sport and organization of university sport events in Europe. Present at the Sports Gala and recieving the award on behalf of EUSA, were Mr Francis Cirianni, Tresurer and Mr Matjaz Pecovnik, Secretary General.
The Sports Gala 2024 of University of Granada, was an occation where the best athletes of the academic year 2023/2024 were recognized and awared. Besides the success of the athletes, the hard work and dedication of coaches, entities and other important individuals with high achivements in sports managment were awarded, as well. The awards covered six sports modalities, both at Olympic and Paralympic level.
Among the awared people, EUSA Vice-President and Secretary General of the Spanish University Sport Committee Mr Aitor Canibe Sanchez, recieved an award as a recognition of his professional career in sports management, and specifically in university sport.
EUSA is honored and grateful for this award and recognition on behalf of University of Granada, and looking forward to continuing the great colaboration in the future as Granada will host three EUSA sports events: the European Universities Beach Sports Championships in 2025, European Universities Volleyball Championship in 2027 and the European Universities Games in 2030.
