EUSA awarded at the 30th anniversary of ASSF

On the invitation of the Armenian Student Sports Federation (ASSF) Mr Adam Roczek, EUSA President and Mr Matjaz Pecovnik, EUSA Secretary General visited Yerevan to attend the ASFF Annual General Assembly and celebration on the occasion of the ASSF 30th Anniversary.

The assembly was organised at the Armenian State University of Economics, EUSA Associated Member. EUSA representatives were firstly welcomed by Mr Hovhannes Gabrieliyan, ASSF President. They also met with Mr Karen Giloyan, Deputy Minister for Sports and Mr Armen Grigoryan, Rector of Armenian State University of Economics.

The assembly began with welcome speeches. Mr Roczek congratulated the federation for its successful work so far and wished them all the best also in the future. He also congratulated the success of universities and students on European and international university sport events.

After the welcome addresses, the assembly approved the annual reports and activity plan and re-elected Mr Gabrieliyan as ASSF President for another term.

During the Anniversary Ceremony, ASSF awarded its members and partners for their contribution to the development of university sport, among them also to Mr Roczek and Mr Pecovnik. 

Mr Roczek and Mr Pecovnik thanked for the recognition and presented the special EUSA anniversary gift to ASSF President. 

During their stay, EUSA representatives visited several sport venues and historical sights, as well as they discussed the details on the organisation of the European Universities Chess Championship, which will be held in September 2025 in the capital of Armenia, Yerevan.
