EUSA attends Slovenia’s Volunteering Week 2019

European University Sports Association (EUSA) with its Institute attended the Happy Day of Volunteering in Slovenia’s capital Ljubljana on May 16.

The event was the highlight of the national volunteering week, held between May 13 and 19, where close to 100 volunteer organisations from across Slovenia presented and displayed their activities at various stands along the picturesque Ljubljanica River.

Among them was also the European University Sports Association (EUSA) and its Institute, who together on an annual basis offers students from across Europe the opportunity to volunteer at our various events, with volunteers having a crucial role in the running and success of our sports competitions all over the continent.

At this year’s event, EUSA’s stand was situated next to that of the Slovenian University Sports Association (SUSA), who together gave passers-by the opportunity to shoot a basketball into a hoop and win EUSA-branded prizes.

As an accredited European Solidarity Corps (ESC) organisation, the EUSA has since 2014 welcomed EVS/ESC volunteers to work in our Office in Ljubljana for a period of 12 months. We currently have two volunteers in our office: Mariano Carcatella from Italy and Kieran Slocum from Ireland.
