EUSA at the European Youth Event 2023
On 9-10 June, the European Youth Event 2023 took place in Strasbourg, gathering over 10000 young people invested in the various fields on national and European level.
The event has also been attended by the participant nominated by the European University Sports Association (EUSA) for the European Commission’s initiative Healthy Lifestyle For All Youth Idea Labs.
European Youth Event (EYE) is a yearly event, gathering thousands of young people from all over the European Union and the world, to share and shape their ideas on Europe’s future.
One of the sessions on June 9, taking place in the building of European Parliament in Strasbourg – “European Youth voices their vision” has been dedicated to discussion on the young people’s ideas and opinions on the various matters – social, cultural and economic.
As 2022 was the European Year of Youth, thousands of voices has been recorded on the dedicated platform, where young people could voice their concerns, ideas and visions. Among those, were the voices on sport, physical activity and mental health – all also connected to the #HealthyLifestyle4All initiative and Youth Ideas Labs created by European Commission where EUSA was one of the key stakeholders.
One of those representatives, Marianna Pikul from AZS Poland, took active part in the session during European Year of Youth, commenting on one of the voices recorded on the platform. The topic has been connected to the work done in frame of the Youth Ideas Lad and the topic of importance of mental health. Discussion on value of mental health and it’s connection to physical health took place among over 40 participants attending the session.
