EUSA at the ENAS Conference 2015

ENAS, the European Network of Academic Sports Services, held its annual conference under the title Move the Campus in Berlin, Germany, between November 10 and 13, 2015. The European University Sports Association (EUSA) was also represented at the event.

150 international university sports representatives attended the Conference, hosted by the Free University in Berlin. A mix of presentations and joint activities featured exchanges between ENAS members, partners and invited guests, focusing on the challenges, needs and opportunities for university sports services in Europe.

ENAS President Mrs Michelle Tanner

Participants were welcomed by the ENAS President Mrs Michelle Tanner and Secretary General Mr Joerg Foerster. Keynote speeches, panel discussions, thematic sessions and best practices formed the programme of the conference.

European Commission represented by Heacd of Sport Unit

Among the diverse array of speakers, Mr Yves le Losteque, Head of Sport Unit of the European Commission, highlighted the importance of higher education and sport and presented the activities and opportunities in the Erasmus+ sport chapter.

EUSA presentation by Mr Arie Rosenzweig

Mr Arie Rosenzweig, EUSA Executive Committee member, presented EUSA and its activities, also in the light of EU-supported projects and programmes, as well as EUSA sports events, the European Universities Games and European Universities Championships.

Activities during the conferences

The Conference was followed by the ENAS General Assembly, which among other topics on the agenda included also voting of the new board. The new Executive Committee continues under the leadership of Mrs Michelle Tanner; other elected members are Mr Stephane Stievenart, Mr Bruno Almeida, Mr Henri tem Klooster, Ms Ramune Zilinskiene, Mr Mel Parker, Mr Javier Rial and Secretary General Ms Margo de Lange.
