The University of Ljubljana organized its ceremonial opening for new students concurrent with the start of the new academic year 2024/2025 on October 1st in the city center of Ljubljana. EUSA with its Institute was one of 50 stands present across Congress Square.

The presence of the EUSA Institute on stands was a great opportunity to present itself and its goals, and to interact with students. Through a fun mini basketball game with different sport-related questions, EUSA European Solidarity Corpse volunteers - Jan, Milia and Markus, engaged with students, presenting them volunteering opportunities for the upcoming European Universities Championships 2025, which will be held next year between June and September across different European cities.

The volunteers shared with students their personal experiences and explained the benefits that these experiences are bringing. They provided information about all types of possible volunteer positions and sports that will be played during the championships. 

To volunteer excitement, several students expressed their interest in becoming volunteers and asked questions about the events, host cities and sports. Those students who were interested about future opportunities, were encouraged to fill a form to stay updated on the next steps and upcoming events.

In addition to students, it was also an opportunity to discover other non-governmental organizations (NGOs) present at the event that work on a local level.

Overall, it was a successful event for EUSA and its Institute, with positive engagement from students aiming for good cooperation in the upcoming European Universities Championships for the 2025 season.
