EUSA and WTE sign Memorandum of Understanding on Taekwondo

European University Sports Association (EUSA), represented by its President Mr Adam Roczek and World Taekwondo Europe (WTE), represented by its Board member Mr Sinisa Jasnic on behalf of WTE President Mr Sakis Pragalos, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on January 30 at the EUSA Headquarters in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

Taekwondo has been one of the sports in EUSA Sports Program since 2009, when the first edition of European Universities Taekwondo Championships was successfully organized in Braga, Portugal. So far, 5 editions of European Universities Taekwondo Championships were organized and the sport was also included in the European Universities Games 2016 in Zagreb-Rijeka and is one of the proposed sports for the European Universities Games 2020 in Belgrade.

Memorandum of Understanding between EUSA and WTE has been signed

EUSA President Mr Roczek stated: “We are extremely proud that EUSA signed a contract with World Taekwondo Europe. This is a crucial step for the further development of Taekwondo within EUSA events and we are assured that this will further increase the level of quality and sport performance of Taekwondo at EUSA events.”

WTE Board Member Mr Sinisa Jasnic commented: “Mr. Sakis Pragalos, WTE President, who unfortunately had to cancel his arrival due to personal matters, expressed his great satisfaction with EUSA signing a contract with WTE. Taekwondo has an enormous potential within Universities community and highlighted that this act will give a strong impulse to the further development of Taekwondo within EUSA.”
