EUSA and the European Rowing

On the invitation of Mr Ryszard Stadniuk, the Chair of Management Board of the European Rowing, the President of the European University Sports Association (EUSA) Mr Adam Roczek attended the European national rowing federations’ General Assembly which was held in Poznan on May 30, along with European Rowing Championships.

Presentation made by Mr Roczek gave a picture of EUSA history and its sporting and non sporting activities. He underlined importance of rowing sport in EUSA program and expressed wish to enter into closer cooperation with European and World governing bodies. The presentation was warmly welcome by delegates and authorities of European and World rowing, among them President of International Rowing Federation (FISA) Mr Jean - Christophe Rolland and Mr Matt Smith.

General Assembly European Rowing 2015

President of FISA updated delegates with the most recent activity of FISA and informed that Executive Committee of World Rowing has decided to withdraw FISA from Sport Accord membership. Delegates approved proposal for rowing to be features at the European Sports Championship - new multisport events which first edition is going to be held in 2018 in two cities: Berlin and Glasgow.



Rowing a very popular within university sport in Europe, and the next European Universities Rowing Championships will be held in September 2015 in Hannover, Germany. Registrations are still possible; please see www.euc-rowing2015.eu for details.
