European Universities Volleyball Championship 2017 concluded

The European Universities Volleyball Championship Rzeszow 2017 concluded on July 2, 2017 with a closing ceremony which followed the finals at the Podpromie sports hall in Rzeszow, Poland.

Over 280 participants representing 21 university teams from 15 countries took part in this year’s - already 14th edition of the event.

Spectators at the events

In men’s finals, the title of champions went to the University of Rzeszow, Poland who won a thrilling final match against the Paul Sabatier University of Toulouse, France.

Male competitions

In women finals, the title of champions went to the University Vasile Alecsandri oF Bacau, Romania who won the exciting final match against the University of Bordeaux, France.

Medal presenters

Medals and awards were presented by Vice-Minister of Science and Higher Education in Poland Mr Aleksander Bobko, Representative of Podkarpackie region Mr Jerzy Cyprys, Vice-President of Rzeszow City Mr Stanislaw Sienko, Rector of the University of Rzeszow Mr Sylwester Czopek, EUSA Volleyball Technical Delegate Mr Joerg Foerster and EUSA Auditor Mr Hovhannes Gabrielyan as the Chair of the SCAC.

At the end of the event, the EUSA flag was passed to the Serbian athletes, as the next European Universities Volleyball Championship will take place in Zrenjanin, Serbia in 2019. Volleyball will also be featured at the European Universities Games Coimbra 2018. All teams are warmly welcomed to join the next EUSA volleyball events.
